The newest school for the Diocese of St. Augustine – Guardian Catholic – will be dedicated by Bishop Felipe Estévez on Monday, Oct. 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The new school is located at 4920 Brentwood Ave. on Jacksonville’s Northside.

Father Thanh Nguyen Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Orange Diocese

Pope Francis has named Father Thanh Thai Nguyen as auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Orange. Father Nguyen, 64, currently serves as pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Jacksonville – the largest parish in the Diocese of St. Augustine with approximately 4,000 families.


Bishop Felipe Estévez Responds to Guilty Plea by Steven James Murray

Steven James Murray, indicted by a Burke County, Georgia Grand Jury for the April 2016 murder of Father Rene Robert,  has agreed to plead guilty to his crime for a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18 in Waynesboro, Georgia.
