Holy matrimony is an amazing gift and one that the Diocese of St. Augustine strives to honor with its annual Anniversary Celebration for couples that have had a long-term marriage throughout the diocese.
This year’s event will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 545 A1A N. in Ponte Vedra Beach and is for couples that are celebrating certain special anniversaries in 2025, including 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 or more years, to be recognized by Bishop Erik Pohlmeier during.
Families of the couples being honored are welcome to attend, however, due to limited space, a maximum of 150 couples with their families can attend and RSVP is required to take part in the reception following Mass.
As part of the service, Bishop Pohlmeier will offer the couples a renewal of commitment to the wedding vows and impart a special blessing upon them.
Each couple will also be given a certificate to preserve the occasion, and participants can upload or mail a photo of them on their wedding day to be displayed as part of a digital slideshow at the event.
Although there is no cost to attend, donations are expected to support the various programs the diocese’s Office of Family Life is involved with.
Stemless wine glasses marking the occasion will be available to purchase prior to the event during the registration process. Couples that donate $50 or more will get a free glass.
