Diocesan Planning Study – Don’t Miss Your Chance to Be Heard

The Diocese of St. Augustine is at an important crossroads. Bishop Erik Pohlmeier has asked every parishioner to prayerfully consider the future of our diocese by participating in a planning study. The study will help determine whether to move forward with a potential capital campaign to address the growing needs of our parishes, schools and ministries.

Why this Matters

The Catholic Church in North Florida is blessed with vibrant growth and a deep history of faith. At the same time, we face challenges—aging facilities, the need for stronger support for Catholic education, resources for clergy and seminarians, and ministries that serve the poor and vulnerable. Before any decisions are made about a campaign, Bishop Pohlmeier wants to hear directly from you.

Final listening sessions

Only four listening sessions remain, and parishioners are encouraged to attend one of these final gatherings:

Tuesday, August 19 | 6:30 p.m., Assumption, Jacksonville

Wednesday, August 20 | 6:30 p.m., St Joseph, Jacksonville

Tuesday, August 26 | 6:30–8 p.m. | Our Lady Star of the Sea, Ponte Vedra Beach

Wednesday, August 27 | 6:30–8 p.m. | San Juan del Rio, St. Johns

At each session, participants will learn about the needs being considered and will be invited to share their insights. Every voice matters as we seek to strengthen the mission of the Church in our diocese.

Can’t attend? Take the Survey.

If you cannot attend in person, you can still take part. Visit steiergroup.com/survey, select Diocese of St. Augustine, review the fact sheet, and then complete the confidential survey. Your feedback will be combined with that of parishioners across the diocese to help shape the final decision.

Shaping our Future Together

Through prayer, reflection and open dialogue, this study will help Bishop Pohlmeier and diocesan leadership discern whether now is the time to launch a campaign. By participating, you are playing a direct role in ensuring that the Catholic Church in North Florida can grow and serve faithfully for generations to come.
