Columbian Squires Donate to Catholic Charities Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund

In response to Bishop Erik Pohlmeier’s call for donations through the Catholic Charities Hurricane Helene and Milton Disaster Relief Fund, the Columbian Squires of Circle 2121 at Christ the King Parish in Jacksonville raised $790.75 to support those impacted by the recent hurricane. Led by Chief Counselor William Manubag, the Knights of Columbus youth branch organized a fundraising dinner to gather these funds.

Bishop Pohlmeier expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Squires for their dedication and compassion. Catholic Charities explained how the funds would serve a family in Levy County who lost everything due to five feet of floodwater, with all major appliances rendered useless. The donation will assist this family and others recovering from the storm’s devastation.

Circle 2121 is one of only three Columbian Squires Circles in Florida, with others in Tampa and Miami. Open to Catholic young men ages 10-18, the Squires reflect the mission of the Knights of Columbus by promoting Catholic values through service. The young men of Circle 2121 look forward to building a strong relationship with Bishop Pohlmeier and continuing their mission of faith in action.
