Young Adults Invited to Lenten Reflection With Bishop Estévez

A bilingual Lenten day of reflection led by Bishop Felipe J. Estévez, bishop emeritus of St. Augustine, will be held March 28 at Mary, Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 9401 Staples Mill Drive in Jacksonville.

Drawing from a lifetime of priestly ministry and episcopal leadership, Bishop Estévez will reflect on his personal response to God’s call and the grace needed to lead with humility and purpose. His talks will focus on discernment, courage and faithful service.

The day will include opportunities for prayer and reflection, with a special invitation to young people across the diocese, particularly Hispanic young adults.

Participants will be encouraged to listen deeply and consider how their God-given gifts are being formed for service in the Church and the world.

The program will continue with “Forjando el Futuro” (“Shaping the Future”), a national initiative developed by the Mexican American Catholic College to form young adults as missionary disciples and pastoral leaders.

In the Diocese of St. Augustine, the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry has embraced the initiative as an investment in the future of the Church, with the goal of forming confident, faith-filled leaders within the Hispanic community who can serve and enrich parish life.
