Discover your call. Deepen your faith. Lead with confidence.

The Diocese of St. Augustine is inviting adults across North Florida to explore the Ministry Formation Program (MFP), a three-year path of study and spiritual growth that prepares lay leaders to serve in parishes and schools. Now in its 34th year, MFP is rooted in Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord and forms participants in four essential dimensions of ministry: spiritual, intellectual, human and pastoral.

More than 400 graduates currently serve throughout the diocese in roles that strengthen parish life, support Catholic education and help others encounter Christ. Many describe the program as life changing. Erin Gawera, active in music ministry, said the experience is like “standing in the breakers of a vast ocean” where “waves of knowledge and tradition continually roll upon you.” Another graduate, Nancy McDonald of St. Paul Parish in Jacksonville Beach, said the program became “a true pilgrimage” that deepened her faith and formed lasting friendships.

If you feel called to grow as a disciple or serve more fully in your parish or school, the Office of Ministry Formation is hosting a series of Information Nights across the diocese. These sessions offer an overview of the program, expectations, benefits and discernment support for those considering commissioned lay ministry or those serving in roles where formal training is encouraged.

Anyone is welcome to attend.
