Catholic motorcyclists from across the globe will converge in Florida this June for the bi-annual Knights on Bikes International Convention, a multi-day event celebrating faith, fellowship and the freedom of the open road.
A highlight of the convention will take place Tuesday, June 24, when riders make a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche in St. Augustine—the oldest Marian shrine in the United States. The day begins with a scenic morning ride from the host hotel to the historic city, where participants will enjoy lunch on their own before gathering for Mass at the shrine at 3:30 p.m.
The Most Rev. Thomas Wenski, Archbishop of Miami, will celebrate the liturgy, and Dr. Mary Soha will deliver a special reflection on the Florida Martyrs—laypeople, missionaries and Native American converts who gave their lives for the Catholic faith in the 16th and 17th centuries.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche is a place of deep spiritual significance, tracing its origins to the first Catholic Mass celebrated in what would become the United States. Pilgrims have visited the site for over 400 years, seeking the Blessed Mother’s intercession, especially for matters related to motherhood, healing and peace. The shrine was designated a national shrine in 2019 and gained additional honor in 2021 when its image of Mary and the Christ Child was canonically crowned by Pope Francis.
The Knights on Bikes convention runs June 22–27 and includes rides, prayer, fellowship and events across Florida, with an optional extension ride to Key West.
