On the warm evening of June 2, on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, Bishop Erik Pohlmeier celebrated Mass at Christ the Good Shepherd Mission in Bell with Fathers Wilson Colmenares, Manuel Puga and Raguiel Rodriguez. The air was filled with incense, and the pews were brimming with devoted parishioners. After Mass, the golden monstrance, holding the Blessed Sacrament, was carried under a processional canopy towards a life-sized figure of Christ on the cross. Singers followed the bishop, singing hymns of praise. Parishioners knelt in adoration first outside by a mural of Our Lady of Guadalupe and then inside at the altar. A joyful reception followed, fostering community. This year’s feast was special, coinciding with a pilgrimage to the National Eucharistic Revival in Indianapolis, July 17-19. Similar processions across the diocese symbolized the church’s mission to carry Christ into the world.
