Catholic schools in the Diocese of St. Augustine welcome all to join in the annual celebration of National Catholic Schools Week, beginning this Sunday, Jan. 29. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service” as reflected in the logo. Highlights of the week focus on faith development, academic excellence and dedication to community service. This week is an opportunity to highlight these efforts as school communities in the diocese. Individual schools have planned a variety of events throughout Catholic Schools Week to recognize what makes Catholic education unique. As part of their community service, schools will collect food to donate to Catholic Charities to help replenish food banks for emergency services. The national daily themes are:
- Sunday, Jan. 29 – Celebrating your Parish
- Monday, Jan. 30 – Celebrating your Community
- Tuesday, Jan. 31 – Celebrating your Students
- Wednesday, Feb. 1 – Celebrating the Nation
- Thursday, Feb. 2 – Celebrating Vocations
- Friday, Feb. 3 – Celebrating Faculty, Staff and Volunteers
- Saturday, Feb. 4 – Celebrating Families
Check with your parish school or diocesan high school for their scheduled open house and continue to pray for our students, their parents, faculty and staff. To find a school near you, visit www.dosaeducation.org.
