The 30th annual Faith Formation Day is slated for Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., at Bishop Snyder High School in Jacksonville.
Once a daylong formation event just for catechists, Faith Formation Day now includes something for every parish, school ministry and minister. And, the programs are offered in both English and Spanish.
Designed to help people develop and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ, Faith Formation catechesis presents the faith in such a way that people’s heart and minds are turned to Christ and His Church.
The theme of this year’s event is “Old Wisdom for a New Age,” presented by keynote speaker Dr. Carole Eipers, vice president and executive director of Catechetics for William H. Sadlier, Inc. Dr. Eipers will focus on the traditions of our faith and their relevance today.
In addition to Dr. Eipers’ presentation, 13 other workshops will be offered on various topics during the morning and afternoon sessions. Some of the topics include: Augustine’s Advice to Catechists, Engaging Parents in the Sacramental Preparation Process, Ways to Pray from Your Heart and Christian Meditation. Also available is Level I Catechist Certification and Level III Continuing Formation classes.
