Seven Sorrows Prayer Walk

Experience the Seven Sorrows Prayer Walk on July 27 at 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios, 101 San Marco Ave., in St. Augustine. Prior to the walk, there will be a brief talk about the Seven Sorrows at the Pilgrim Center Pavilion. This devotion is rooted in the prophecy of Simeon in Luke 2:34–35 and involves praying seven Hail Marys while reflecting on the Seven Sorrows of Mary. It’s a powerful way to find solace in the compassionate heart of Mary, who understands our sufferings and seeks to fill our hearts with hope in her Son.
The Devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows was given to us by St. Bridget of Sweden (1303–1373). The Via Matris (Way of the Mother) depicts the Seven Sorrows of Mary and complements the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross).
