Give the Gift of Hope This Holiday Season with Catholic Charities

The holiday season is a time of joy, gratitude and giving. However, for many families across the Diocese of St. Augustine, it can also be a time of worry and need. Catholic Charities, with regional offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Lake City and St. Augustine, is stepping up to ensure that no family goes without food, warmth and hope this Thanksgiving and Christmas. You can join this mission of love and service by supporting one or more of their impactful programs.

Jacksonville

In Jacksonville, Catholic Charities is gearing up to distribute Thanksgiving meals to families in need. You can help by purchasing items from their Amazon wish list or donating Thanksgiving staples like stuffing mix, canned vegetables and cranberry sauce. Donations can be dropped off at the main office, 6 E. Bay St., Ste. 301 or the Arlington warehouse, 1430 Bernita St.

Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring that all families can gather around a table of gratitude. Visit ccbjax.org for more details.

Lake City

The Catholic Charities Lake City food pantry is dedicated to supporting the community this holiday season. Volunteers are the backbone of this effort, and your involvement can make a real difference. Whether you have time to give or can contribute $15 to provide a turkey or ham, your support will directly impact families across five counties: Columbia, Hamilton, Lafayette, Suwannee and Union.

Donations of food and money can be dropped off at 553 NW Railroad Street in Lake City. To learn about volunteer opportunities, please visit catholiccharitieslakecity.org. Together, let’s spread nourishment and joy to over 650 families this Thanksgiving!

Gainesville

In Gainesville, the need for non-perishable food items is urgent as Catholic Charities prepares Thanksgiving baskets. Suggested donations include frozen turkey, canned vegetables, boxed stuffing and instant mashed potatoes.

You can also spread cheer by donating in a unique way by participating in the Gainesville Santa Crawl on Dec. 14 or supporting #iGiveCatholic on Dec. 3. Both events are fantastic ways to celebrate the season while aiding families in need.

Donations can be dropped off at their Gainesville office, 1701 NE 9th Street in Gainesville, or make a financial donation at catholiccharitiesgainesville.org

St. Augustine

This Thanksgiving, Catholic Charities St. Augustine goes above and beyond by providing additional staples alongside their regular food bags to ensure families enjoy a memorable and abundant holiday dinner. Their food pantry is open Mondays and Wednesdays at 525 State Road 16, Suite 112, in St. Augustine.

In the spirit of the season, Catholic Charities is also launching its Hope for the Holidays program, supporting families in St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler Counties. We invite you to adopt a family, child or senior to help make this Christmas especially joyful. Donations of gift cards and toys are greatly appreciated.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a significant difference during the holiday season. By contributing food, funds or your time to Catholic Charities, you can help spread hope and love to families throughout northeast and northcentral Florida. Let’s unite as a community to ensure that every neighbor feels the warmth and blessings of this sacred time of year.
