St. Francis of Assisi: Peacemaker in a World of Turmoil

On Thursday, Oct. 3, join the Cathedral Basilica and Flagler College for a special talk featuring Dr. Timothy J.
Johnson, a Franciscan scholar. The talk “St. Francis of Assisi: Peacemaker in a World of Turmoil” will provide a deep
dive into the peacemaking life of the 13th-century friar. Dr. Johnson will shed light on St. Francis’s vision of freedom
and compassion, which emerged in a culture torn apart by warfare, hunger, prejudice, and the exploitation of
animals and humans. The event will take place at the Flagler College Ringhaver Student Center – Virginia Room, with
a reception at 5:30 p.m. and the talk from 6 to 7 p.m. Admission and parking are free, but space is limited, so be
