Young adults across the Diocese of St. Augustine are invited to join a dynamic evening of drinks, conversation and Catholic teaching at Theology on Tap Jacksonville, happening Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at Legacy Ale Works, 14965 Old St. Augustine Road.
This quarter’s featured speaker is Dr. Ruby Gravrok, a resident physician in family medicine at Ascension-St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville. With a passion for Restorative Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Gravrok is a certified instructor of the Billings Ovulation Method, a FEMM medical consultant and a sought-after speaker on Natural Family Planning and Theology of the Body. When she’s not at the clinic or lecturing, she enjoys running, dancing and cooking. Her talk will explore the beauty of the human body through the lens of faith, science and God’s design for love and life.
Theology on Tap is more than a speaker series—it’s a movement. It began in Chicago in the 1980s to reach young adults who had questions about the Catholic faith but weren’t connecting through traditional parish settings. Since then, it’s grown into a worldwide effort to meet people where they are—in local pubs, breweries and cafés—to talk about the things that matter most.
Here in the Diocese of St. Augustine, Theology on Tap is offered quarterly at rotating venues throughout the diocese. Supported by the diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, the event series brings together young adults in their 20s and 30s for meaningful conversation, community building and spiritual growth. Past venues have included River City Brewing and Historically Hoppy, with each event offering a welcoming space to meet new people and grow deeper in the faith.
So, bring your friends, grab a pint and pull up a chair. Whether you’re new to the area, curious about Church teaching or just looking to meet like-minded Catholics, Theology on Tap is the place for you.
