‘Respect Life’ Novena Promotes Life and Protection

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) invites Catholics nationwide to participate in the annual Respect Life Novena, which underscores the sacredness of human life and the call for its protection. The novena runs from Oct. 22 to Oct. 30 and is available in English and Spanish on the USCCB’s website at usccb.org/respect-life-novena. Participants can also receive it via email.

Each day of the novena features a specific intention, reflection, prayer, suggested acts of reparation and additional resources to deepen understanding of the Church’s teaching on the sanctity of human life.

The novena begins by calling for the protection of life from conception to natural death, culminating in a prayer that “all Catholics help build a culture that cherishes every person as a precious gift from God.” For more information and to access the novena in English, visit usccb.org/respect-life-novena; for Spanish, visit usccb.org/es/respect-life-novena.
