The Diocese of St. Augustine will host its first Rosary Congress that will occur in nine different parishes over eight days, Sept. 27 through Oct. 4.
The event, which is meant to prepare the diocese for the Florida Respect Life Conference in October, will include Masses for Life, continuous adoration and praying the rosary every hour.
“Mass intentions will be offered each day for one of the following; life, families, special needs, the sick and suffering, our church, our priests and vocations, our country, youth and young adults, and those suffering following an abortion,” said May Oliver, director of the Human Life and Diginity office for the Diocese of St. Augustine.
A hand-painted banner of Our Lady Mother of the Eucharist will be blessed by Bishop Felipe Estévez and processed around the diocese as well. The banner will include an envelope where parishioners can place their hand-written intentions.
“This Rosary Congress is meant to convert our hearts to be like our Mother’s, to pray that a “culture of life” is honored, and for the success of the Florida Respect Life Conference,” said Oliver.
