40th Annual Faith Formation Day

Join us for a Day of Spiritual Growth and Community!
The Office of Christian Formation is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Faith Formation Day, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Bishop John J. Snyder High School, 5001 Samaritan Way, in Jacksonville (32210). This event is designed for everyone and offers something for all attendees.
The day begins with Mass, celebrated by Bishop Erik Pohlmeier. After a light breakfast, Dr. Kevin Dowd, sponsored by Pflaum Publishing, will deliver the keynote address entitled, “Our Identity as Members of the Body of Christ.”
Following the keynote presentation, a variety of workshops will cater to diverse needs:
Clergy Workshop – Father Tom Willis, director of the Office of Liturgy, will present on the revised ritual, “Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharist Outside of Mass.”
Eucharistic Revival – Dr. Alex Groppe will provide an insightful “Journey Through the Mass.”
Bilingual Workshops: Father Jhon Guarnizo will present “Who Do You Say That I Am?” in Spanish and English.
Catholic Identity – Dennis Johnson, the newly appointed chancellor of administrative affairs for the diocese, will conduct a workshop in Spanish and English, sponsored by Loyola Press.
Evangelization – Brian Truckenbrod of the Augustine Institute will offer two practical workshops on evangelization.
Family Formation – Denise Pressley will share insights on “Parents and Families at the Center of Formation Grant” through the Lilly Foundation.
Additionally, we will offer our regular Basic Certification sessions.
Registration Details
Early Bird (through Sept. 27): $30 per individual or $100 for a group of four from one location.
After Sept. 27: $40 per person with no guarantees of materials or food.
The fee includes a light breakfast, lunch and access to all talks and workshops.
