SUMMARY:Conference on Inclusive Formation
DESCRIPTION:The Office of Christian Formation (OCF) has been focusing its efforts on Family Faith Formation over the past 2 years.  An important aspect of Family Faith Formation is including all people\, especially children and youth\, in all our opportunities.   With this goal in mind\, the OCF is hosting a 2-day conference on inclusive formation in collaboration with the National Partnership on Disabilities. (NCPD).  This conference will have 4 distinctive workshops each with its own focus: \n\nMaking Parishes Everyone’s Home ~ from foundation to formation\nFrom Inclusion to Belonging ~ Focus on Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities\nWhen Did We See You? ~  Focus on Autism\nDo You (Want To) Have What it Takes? ~ Best practices for adaptive catechesis and sacramental preparation.\n\nEach workshop will be offered simultaneously in English and Spanish.  The Spanish workshops are being funded through a Lilly Foundation Grant.  The English workshops ae being partially funded by the Catholic Foundation and through monies received through iGiveCatholic. \nYou can attend one\, two\, three\, or all four sessions\, based on what you need.  While this conference is geared toward those who teach\, it could also be helpful to families\, pastors\, and those who plan activities at the parish.  Those who register for all day Saturday will have lunch provided. \nThis event will be held in the Cody enrichment Center of St. Joseph Parish\, on the second floor.  Friday\, April 24\, we will begin at 6:30 pm and close at 8:30 pm.  On Saturday\, we will start at 9:30 am and continue until 3:00 pm.  St. Joseph has an 8:00 am Mass on Saturdays.  Our presenters ae both from the NCPD:  Charlene Katra\, Executive Director and Kelsey Bell. \nLoyola Press will be on hand with some of their materials for inclusive formation. \n Please note: The Spanish event has been cancelled.
