Protecting God’s Children Workshops
Protecting Children
Child sexual abuse is a worldwide public health issue. Child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse, is reprehensible – especially when the wrongdoer is affiliated with the church. The VIRTUS program assists the church in being a safe haven for children and a messenger for preventing child sexual abuse within the church and society in general. We, the Diocese of St. Augustine, seek to achieve this lofty goal through our child sexual abuse prevention program –Protecting God’s Children (PGC).
Who Should Attend
If you are a member of the clergy, a diocesan employee (staff and ministries), or a volunteer who has contact with children and youth, you are required to attend one program. Please contact your pastor, principal or director who will put you in touch with a facilitator to assist you with registration.
